Today’s FamilyFirst site is one of those whose content speaks for itself. In fact, there’s not a whole lot I can add in my description. But, I’ll make a valiant try to make my writeup column-length anyway ;-) .
The site is the ultimate online want ads presentation. Its unpretentious all-lower-case name sums it up. It doesn’t toot its own horn. It doesn’t have to.
The site is craigslist.

Founded in 1995 by Craig Newmark in San Francisco, it has grown from a local want ads site to the ultimate posting spot if you’re looking for a job, a couch, a pet, a car, or any other conceivable thing, you’ll probably find it here.
The index has grown to over 300 cities. The nearby town of Fayetteville, Arkansas is close enough for me to find stuff close enough for me to drive up and have a look.
Now, before I catch the same grief that I get when a TV show that has a family-safe website puts something questionable on the airwaves, let me put this caveat in: The site is not exactly censored, although it is monitored. If you look in the personals, odds are you’ll see something that may well offend you.
My advice: check out ads for stuff that interests you. Don’t look for trouble.
With that in mind, get the listing that’s close to home for you and have a look. Post a free ad if you’re so inclined. They do charge for certain ads, but most are free.
